Meet the Composer – Bohdana Frolyak

New York, NY
Photo

Join us at the Ukrainian Institute of America for an intimate evening celebrating acclaimed Ukrainian composer Bohdana Frolyak, whose work is being featured by the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Dalia Stasewska, at David Geffen Hall during the same week as our event.

At the UIA concert, a distinguished ensemble of artists — including members of the NY Phil, the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and faculty from Yale, Juilliard, and Oberlin conservatories — will perform Frolyak’s evocative chamber music. The evening continues with a special Q&A with the composer, in conversation with Oksana Nesterenko, offering a rare opportunity to hear Frolyak reflect on her creative journey and musical vision.

The program will conclude with a reception and light refreshments.

The Ukrainian Institute of America is proud to partner with — and deeply grateful for the financial support of — the Ukrainian National Women’s League of North America and the Shevchenko Scientific Society in presenting this special musical event to our community.
