"Bird in the Attic" by Oleh Mykhailov - A performance by the Ukrainian theater "Wandering Stars"

The first Ukrainian theater in California, "Wandering Stars," continues its second season with a play by modern Ukrainian playwright Oleh Mykhalyov titled "BIRD IN THE ATTIC." The play was written in 2023.
It's a drama told through monologues that the main character records on a video camera. She is almost fourteen years old. Her city has been destroyed and occupied. She has been separated from her mother, who was taken to a foreign country, where they constantly tell her, "Girl, you've always been russian; you just forgot about it." All she has is the hope that her mother will see the video and a piece of Ukraine in her heart.
The play prompts reflection on the fate of children kidnapped during wartime and highlights the importance of doing everything we can to bring them home.
The role of the main character is played by Diana Yavorska.
Directed by Olena Bilyak.
We perform in Ukrainian with English subtitles.
Children under 15 may attend the play only when accompanied by an adult who will decide whether the subject matter is suitable for them.
The theater thanks the nonprofit organization "Hromada," the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church parish, and Father Oleh Kepeshchuk for their support and collaboration.
All proceeds from the performance go to help Ukraine, and the theater's team works on a volunteer basis. Tickets can be purchased through the link below.
