Mustache Funk — Fall Ukrainian Film Series in San Francisco

Join the Fall Ukrainian Film Series for a screening of “Mustache Funk,” a documentary about the bold Ukrainian music scene that emerged under Soviet rule in the 1960s and 1970s. The film explores how Ukrainian musicians blended local traditions with funk, rock, and global influences to create a sound that defied cultural restrictions. After the screening, guests are invited to stay for a discussion as part of the Cinema Club project, where film becomes a space for dialogue and shared reflection. The event is hosted by C Ukraine Cultural Showcase with support from the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco. Seating is limited, and early RSVP is recommended. Net proceeds from the event will benefit Nova Ukraine.
