Ukrainian Independence Day Flag-Raising Ceremony

Join the community for a special ceremony celebrating the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. The program features a proclamation by White Plains Mayor Justin C. Brasch, the American and Ukrainian national anthems, a Ukrainian flag-raising ceremony, and blue-and-yellow lighting of the Renaissance Fountain. The commemorative flag display and lighting will remain through August 29, 2026 as a symbol of solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Hosted by the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Westchester Branch 30, this gathering brings together local Ukrainian organizations, veterans, youth groups, churches, schools, and supporters. Participating organizations are encouraged to bring members and, if possible, their banner or flag. Come celebrate unity, freedom, democracy, and human dignity with the community.
